Welcome, I’m Rochelle

romance author & novelist

This year I am honored to celebrate thirty-five years as a published author and throughout these many years I have strived to bring readers the characters and the storylines they have come to expect from me.

I’ve written about many family series – some that are generations and regions of the country that may be familiar to many readers.  And there are occasions where I find myself veering from traditional and occasionally sensual romance to introduce titles that are categorized as women’s and historical fiction.  I hope that when you open one of my books you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

After so many years and attempting to come up with a new story line I am sorry, but the answer is no. The Coles, Kirklands and the Sterlings will always resonate with me because I truly loved creating these families. However, it is said that if you love something you have to let it go in order to come up some new and hopefully more exciting.

I create a storyboard to keep track of the characters and the settings. Most of the titles are standalone, but occasionally I will include main characters from previous books in cameo appearances.

Yes. If it is a trilogy like The Best Men, The Whitfield Brides and the Hideaway Weddings.

I knew there would be ten titles in the Wickham Falls Weddings and four in the upcoming Bainbridge House series.

I like both, but I find women’s fiction easier to write because it isn’t formulaic. Once I develop my characters they don’t have to adhere to the rules in series romance.I find writing series romance a challenge because I’m not permitted to draw outside the lines. However, it is very gratifying to know that my hero and heroine are guaranteed a happily ever after.

I LOVE KNITTING AND CHARITY WORK

During the pandemic lock down I rediscovered in between writing, my love of knitting and crocheting during the six months I did not leave the house.Β  Packages from Joann’s, Michael’s, and Amazon bulging with yarn were left on my front steps with such regularity that I realized I had enough supplies to open my own shop.Β  And while there were so many hats, scarves, gloves, and blankets I could give to family members, I decided to donate many of my finished garments.Β  Katie’s Run, held on Long Island, is an event organized by the Katie McBride Foundation that honors the memory of Katie and the families of all childhood leukemia victims who became the recipient along with several other charities.Β  My next project is knitting scarves representing the Divine Nine.Β

The man who has no imagination has no wings.
